Emulated Video Games

One of my hobbies is emulation of old video games. Specifically, I like NES, SNES, and gameboy.

I attempted to make a time-attack (a movie of quickly beating the game using an emulator). Many such movies can be seen at Bisqwit's site.

Modified FCEU

The latest versions of the NES emulator FCEU seem to be Windows only. I have tweaked it to compile for x86 (32-bit) and AMD64 (64-bit) on Linux. This includes the source code, a keybindings file, and a compiled executable for x86 and AMD64. Now it should be much easier to make and watch NES movies on Linux.
Get FCEU 0.98.16.luke for Linux.

These are my favorite hacks made by other people.

Extra Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 1 A combination of Metroid and the SMB1 engine. You can get abilities, and explore the worlds in different orders, despite the screen only scrolling in 1 direction. Its new enemies and powerups make for a novel challenge.
Mario Adventure Super Mario Bros. 3 An entirely new game using the SMB3 engine. It adds a whole lot of new code, including new abilities and changes around the whole objective of the game. Instead of going through the worlds sequentially, they can be done in any order.
Super Demo World Super Mario World An entirely new game using the SMW engine. It adds a whole lot of new code, including SMB3 style follow pipes and snow. It takes graphics from many different games and allows you to take a hint block to any area you are having trouble with. There is a very well hidden secret world.
